Major Career Roles
Sarah is Chair of Polar Capital Technology Trust plc, John Lewis Partnership Pensions Trust Ltd, BBC Pension Investment Ltd and Universities Superannuation Scheme Investment Management Ltd. She is Senior Independent Non-Executive Director at Alliance Trust plc and also at Worldwide Healthcare Trust plc, where she is also Chair of the Nominations Committee. She is also an independent member of the investment committee of the BBC Pension Scheme.
Sarah has over 35 years of experience in the investment and investment management sectors. She started life as an analyst with Simon & Coates and worked her way up through Invesco Ltd to become Joint Chief Investment Officer and Chief Executive of the institutional business in the UK.
Sarah was Chair of Merian Global Investors and Chair of St James’s Place plc. She was also Chair of the Association of Investment Companies and of JP Morgan American Investment Trust plc and Witan Pacific plc, Stena UK Pension Scheme and Audit Committee Chair of U and I plc.
She was also Chair of the Audit Committee of New India Investment Trust, among other investment-company Board roles.
In the property world, Sarah was appointed a Non-Executive Director of U and I Group plc, and Chair of its Audit Committee (and later SID), and Chair of a small Russian property company.
She was one of the co-founders of the Diversity Project, and set up the Diversity Project Charity, of which she was Chair.
She was also Chair of the Kings Corner Project (a small youth charity).
