Sir Richard Olver is an experienced Chair and CEO of FTSE 100 and private companies with over 22 years of international senior leadership experience. He has a vast multi-industry knowledge in the energy, oil and gas, defence, media, financial services, private equity, government sectors.

 

Sir Richard is currently an Operating Advisor to private equity firm Clayton Dubilier and Rice LLC , Advisor to HSBC, and Chair of QantX Ltd. Sir Richard also served as Non-Executive Chair of BAE Systems, one of the world’s largest defence contractors, from 2004 until 2014.

 

Prior to joining BAE Systems, Sir Richard had a 30+ year career with bp plc, where he served as Deputy Group Chief Executive from 2003 and Chief Executive, Exploration and Production, from 1998. He continued his association with bp plc as Deputy Chair of TNK-BP from July 2004 until October 2006.

 

He was also a Non-Executive Director of Reuters and Thomson Reuters from 1997 to 2008.

 

Sir Richard was knighted in 2013 for services to business and contribution to UK Corporate Governance, received The Presidents medal from the Royal Academy of Engineers in 2015 and was elected as Sunday Times’ Non-Executive Director of the Year in 2012.
